Mail Box Needs

While visiting my husband's relative I have observed that their mailbox is actually old and rusty. I called my husband and we have a short talk and I told him that maybe we can get them a new mailbox as a sign of how grateful we are for their hospitality. My husband actually likes the idea and we decided to look online. While searching the web today, I happen to visit the EccoMailbox website.

The EccoMailbox online store actually sells different types of ecco mailboxes such as ecco wall mount mailbox, ecco e6 mailbox, ecco e7 mailbox, ecco e8 mailbox and much more. So far, the EccoMailbox online store has the best customer service policy. They actually offer a 30 days returnable policy for items that you don't like without charging you for a restocking fee. Take note that they are also offering the best price online and all their products are made with the highest quality of material.

By the way, I have a included a picture above. Hurry and check this out today!

Trip to Northern New Mexico

I really have a long day today together with my husband's folks. It was fun because I was able to meet Navajo Indians here in Grants, New Mexico. Actually, my sister-in-law's husband is a Navajo Indian and he is really a nice man.

My husband and I went with her sister and brother-in-law to attend a graduation party in Haystack, New Mexico and I was able to help them make their Navajo bread which is called "fried bread". I heard them speaking their Navajo language and it was fun meeting with Native Americans.

Anyways, after the party my sister-in-law and the rest of her family went horse back riding. I decided to take a nap because I was darn tired. By the way, yesterday we went fishing in Pecos, New Mexico and we also visited the famous town of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

We are going back home tomorrow after a four day trip to visit my sister-in-law and her family. I can't wait to sleep with my own bed and get back to work again. The best thing is that I will be paid this Wednesday. Anyways, I hope everyone is having a great weekend with their family and friends. Happy Sabbath Day guys!

NMEDA Is the Answer

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of NMEDA. All opinions are 100% mine.

It is really sad to say that both my husband's Dad and Step-Dad have a hard time walking around the house without any help from us. While checking some items online I found out that NMEDA is a non-profit organization that helps people from all over the United States of America picks the best products such as mobility vehicles, wheelchairs for people who have disabilities and a whole lot more.

NMEDA is an organization that conducts thorough inspections for custom vehicles for disable people out there to ensure that all products are safe to use. Please bear in mind that all NMEDA dealers who sell handicap vans passed the required standard procedure from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The great thing about NMEDA is that they have Quality Assurance Program (QAP) that are nationally recognize accreditation program for the Adaptive Mobility Equipment Industry. Remember that all your transaction with any NMEDA associates is well documented for quality purposes.

I've seen the struggles that my father-in-law and step-father-in-law faces every day. That is why I have decided that I will suggest to both of them to check any dealers that are members of NMEDA in our area. I know that this will truly help them gain back their independence ones again with the help of NMEDA dealers out there.

Hypochondriac

My husband and I truly believe that one of his sisters is suffering from health anxiety or health phobia because almost every day she always think that she is sick or suffering from different kind of illnesses. She always go to the doctor because she is afraid that she will have cancer, diabetes and other types of serious illness.

Even if the doctor assured her that her health looks perfect but still she can't take out any negative thoughts that she have. She often self diagnose herself and will insist that she is actually sick. But I love my sister-in-law dearly and we will make sure that she knows it every day. Hopefully, in the future she will be able to overcome this type of disorder and just enjoy her life to the fullest.

Baby Boom!

I was surprised to see my former colleague at the store today because she was actually shopping for maternity clothes for her. Well, she had been married for over five years now and she is very excited to welcome their first bundle of joy this December. She told me that they had been waiting this long to have their first baby and they are so proud to have their child soon.

We did talk for a bit at the store and she was asking me if I already have any child yet. I just smile and said, don't worry Missy time will come that I will have my own child and I will let you know in the future. Honestly, I feel awkward telling people that I don't have any children yet but I don't really like to explain why. Finally, we parted ways and I told her that I will visit her whenever I can.

I am praying for my friend's safe delivery and a healthy baby. Good morning folks!

Guests Are Still Here!

The house is a mess, everything is scattered but hubby is having a great time with his family. By the way, yesterday before I went to work we went to the movies and watched the movie titled Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. We had a great time and we all think that the movie is awesome. I highly recommend to all my readers out there to check this movie out because it is good for family get together. The movie is rated PG-13.

Ghost Hunters Scares Up a Good Time

A show that I have been watching a whole lot these past few months is Ghost Hunters. This show follows a paranormal investigative team as they look for ghost and things that go bump in the night at supposedly haunted locations. This show airs on the SciFi channel and the series started in October of 2004. I consider myself lucky to have gotten this channel on one of the satellite tv deals that come up every now and then.

I haven't watched it from the start of the series, but after watching for a while, I really wish that I would have started watching it sooner. The stars of the show are Grant Wilson and Jason Hawes and they lead various teams into some of the creepiest locations that you will ever see. Some of the creepy locations that they have filmed include Alcatraz, Eastern State Penitentiary, and Garden State Asylum. And not only were they creepy, but they really made me question my position on spirits and life after death.

What really fascinates me about Ghost Hunters is that Jason and Grant are actually plumbers! I know that it sound weird, but that's how they started out and still do it on the side. They seem to be able to bring that same troubleshooting ability that they use on their jobs to their pursuits of the paranormal. At first it sounded a little dubious to me, but it seems to really work for the program. This show really scares up a good time for me every week. In fact, I have become addicted to the show and refuse to miss any of the episodes for any reason. Yep, it's that good.

Full House

My apartment seems smaller now that I have seven people staying with us for a couple of days before going back with them for a weekend trip. I had been busy since yesterday because I have my husband's folks visiting from out of town. I wasn't able to do a lot of things because I am doing my best to entertain them and be the best hostess I can.

I am glad that hubby isn't working tomorrow and he can finally help me do the household chores. Wow, I need a break!

Personal Review of the Movie Shutter Island

We watch the movie entitled Shutter Island last night starring Leonardo DiCaprio. The movie was based on a novel by Dennis Lehane. In my own opinion, the movie was full of suspense and twist. I wasn't expecting everything that happens in the end.

Overall, the movie was good but it is very depressing.

He Just Called to Say.....

I was a little upset yesterday morning because my boss called me on my home number and told me that he made a mistake with my time schedule. I was supposed to work late but for some reason he called me and woke me up early in the morning to tell me that I have to show up to work earlier than what I was schedule for.

Anyways, I will be working 6 days a week again from now on since I am off from school. I like having money in my bank account and wallet but sometimes I get feed up from working and I just want to quit.

I am glad I have my hubby to cheer me up!

Buying a new Swim Suit

My daughter is about to have her birthday. She will be 2 years old. I wanted to buy her a new swim suit that would be perfect for the entire upcoming summer. The best way I could find was by searching online. I used my hughes net internet satellite internet and was able to look at many different options. I could search for different suits and sizes online.

Next I searched the Old Navy website for a bathing suit. I found several that I liked on here. The prices on this site are amazing! I couldn't believe how cheap I was going to find just what I had been looking for on this site. I was able to find several from $10-$16.50 in price. I finally decided on 2 different suits for her. I purchased both of them. I was also very happy to find out that they had a free shipping offer if I used my Old Navy credit card. This worked out great. I was able to get her 2 suits that were perfect and I only spent $24.50. She is going to be so excited when she gets these along with her little pool for her birthday.

Hubby's Car Is Fixed!

The mechanic had to change a new starter for our vehicle today. Hubby had to stay home and wait for the call from the mechanic. Anyways, we are happy that the starter is still under warranty because we don't have to spend any dime to purchase a new one.

I was worried for awhile because we don't know if how much the mechanic will ask for the service, but to our surprised he only asked my hubby to pay him $44 bucks. We are so happy and excited to drive the car again. I am looking forward for our joy riding tonight.

Can't Sleep!

For some reason I woke up right now and I can't go back to sleep. It's almost 2:30 early morning here and I am trying to dose off myself to go back to bed. I'm drinking hot milk right now and just watching the video from our vacation trip in the Philippines last December until January of this year. I've been watching this over and over again since I get back from our vacation but I never get tired of it.

Hopefully, I will be ready to go back to bed soon. Happy Sabbath Day everyone!

Walk with Me

I went to see my adviser today after I finished my exam in my Psychology class. She was asking me some question if I will be interested in joining a research group that will do some surveys this summer. I was really surprised because I was not expecting her to invite me to join the group because the members of this group were already doing their Master's degree in Psychology.

Well, I told my adviser sure I would love to be a part of this elite group of students you know. Most members were exchanging business cards to each other and I told them that I don't have any. I just simply told them that I can give them my email address and my phone number in order for them to contact me when they need me. It was an awkward moment for me, but then again they assure me that I will learn something out of this project.

I am hoping that I will make new friends and learn something from them that will help me achieve my goal in getting a master's degree in Psychology in the future.

Oh Crab!

I had been craving for steam crab lately, I don't know why but every time I think about it the more I wanted to have it. Anyways, my husband told me that we can go to the Asian store tomorrow and we can get a pound or two of snow crabs. Honestly, I can't wait to cook the crab with coconut milk, curry and canyon pepper; yummy!

Trips in the Field

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Lunchables. All opinions are 100% mine.

I had been to a lot of field trips while growing up. I am very lucky that my parents are very supportive when it comes to school activities and for letting me joined any field trips that my school offers for their students and so forth. You may want to watch this video with your kiddos entitled "Alien Field Trip" I promised that you will love everything about it.

Did you know that you can now recommend or nominate a classroom to be part of the contest called Field Trips For All? This amazing contest is actually sponsored by no other than Lunchables Team who created this project to reach and help well deserving students to go out and explore the world in the hope of helping them learn new things outside the school classroom.

The procedure for the contest is really simple. If you happen to be six year old or older than that then you may choose one classroom that deserves to be part of the 50 field trip winners across America. Please remember to give a small description why you pick them and why they earn the spot to be one of the 50 winners of this amazing contest.

I totally agree that the more students gain experience, the brighter their future will be. Don't wait, please help us spread the word and nominate a classroom.

Pica...Pica!

It is really strange to watch a young girl eating three to four pieces of chalk a day. This young girl used to eat grasshopper while growing up and then she switch to eating dirt and then lastly she is eating chalk every day.

Actually, this type of behavior is a medical disorder that focuses on eating non-nutritive things such as chalk, dirt, paper, feces, ice, paint, hairball, coil and sand. The girl who is diagnosed with pica had been eating chalk for almost 10 years now.

I'm actually flabbergasted with everything that I saw on the television lately.

Our Florida Vacation

As a family, we sat down together and planned our family vacation to Florida. It was fun to watch the kids contribute to this family event. The first thing we did was set the date. To save us money we planned an off-season trip. Each member of the family had to contribute by raising money. There were three children the ages were 12, 7, and 4. The youngest would pick up her toys and help mom clean her room. The two boys did yard work, errands, and other little jobs they would find on their own. We had a whole year to save and plan for the things we wanted to do or buy. It was a year of odd jobs and garage sales. Every few months we would pool our money together to see how much was in the vacation pot. Each time we would do this, the excitement of the trip would increase. As a family, we raised enough money for plane fare, hotel room, rental car, food, and fun money.

Finally, the week had arrived when we would be boarding our plane and heading for Florida. Everyone got into the car, chattering with excitement over the trip we were about top embark on. Dad was the last one to leave the house and turned on the home alarm then he locked the door since he’d read about Home safety tips earlier in the week. This was the first time the children had flown and they enjoyed talking to people and looking out the window and eating snacks.

Once in Florida we checked into our room. That evening it began to rain. The weather was so warm that the rain did not damper the swimming in the pool or trips to the ocean. The next morning the boys got up early to go swimming and to their surprise, they found that it had rained tadpoles. There were tadpoles in the pool, on the sidewalk, and in the grass. Boys being boys, wanted to take them home. Somehow, we talked them out of that. They had fun collecting them; our daughter would not go swimming in the pool after seeing all those tadpoles.

The kids are all grown up now and have kids of their own, but when we get together, we still talk about our family vacation to Florida and the fun we had.

Yawning!

It's so weird that every time I see people yawn in front of me I feel the urge to yawn back. But according to Oliver Walusinski, the author of the book "The Mystery of Yawning in Physiology and Disease"; yawning can help us:

  • Relieve Stress
  • Yawning can also increase oxygen intakes
  • Increase boost of concentration
  • yawning cools the brain

Finally, it is very interesting to know that we started yawning even while inside our mother's womb. Would you like to try counting how many times in a day you yawn?

One Down, One More to Go

While working at the school district yesterday, the first thing that I have notice upon entering the school was the no skateboarding sign around the campus. Apparently, a lot of my fellow teachers were complaining to the principal about students who are playing around the school campus during class hours.

Sometimes, student's behavior can be so frustrating especially if they will not listen or follow your instructions. I am glad that I have never encountered such issue with my students. When I do my substitute teaching job I usually prefer to accept jobs for elementary students because I feel like I am more in control with them compared to students who are already attending middle school or high school already.

Vacation for students is just around the corner. There last day of class will be on June 5, 2010. I am more than happy to have a vacation off from school and I will be working more on my second job as a cashier. By the way, I have one more final exam to go this Friday and after that spring semester is finally over.

Retail Therapy

I have been studying hard for my final exam for this coming Wednesday. I wasn't working today and hubby told me to take a break and for us to go to the mall. I am really thrilled because hubby told me to pick whatever I want. Well, I was looking around the mall and my eyes saw this two beautiful pair of shoes. I tried both shoes and ask hubby if I look good with them. I was not planning to purchase the shoes at all but oh well; I could not take my eyes of them.

Anyways, I purchase both pairs of shoes and I am happy that I did.

Mommy Celebration

I definitely enjoyed the mother's day party that was held at my in-laws house last Sunday. They prepare different kind of foods from steak, barbecue ribs, tamales, beef soup, Spanish rice and many more. Most of my husband's Aunt's are mothers so at first I felt a little weird around them. Finally, I was able to break the silence and told them how grateful I am for my mother for taking good care of us and making sure that her 12 children were being raised well to become great mothers in the future. I also commend all the mothers out there for their sacrifices and their unconditional love for their children.

After the serious talk we decided to do our karaoke session. Everyone was delighted that I brought my equipment. My husband prepared different games for the kids as well as different prizes after each game.

On the other hand, I helped my mother-in-law prepare a little gift for the mommies in the party such as handbags, kitchen items, ocean fragrance, hand-made jewelries, beauty products and many more.

My mother's day celebration was fabulous!

Happy 55th Birthday Pa

Happy Birthday Pa, I wish and pray that you will have many more birthdays to come, good health, happiness and a prosperous life. Please remember that we all love you. Take care and have a happy happy birthday.

Helping Out!

Yesterday was a very long day for me and my husband because we went to help out his Dad organized his storage room. I can't believed that there were tons of empty boxes, printers, pictures, tools, appliances, tennis bag, clothes and other stuff that were scattered inside the storage room. Honestly, at first I don't know where to start with the clean up.

I decided to divide the area in to two. My husband cleaned the left area and I cleaned the right portion of the room. I was throwing the empty boxes like crazy and put them in the recycle bin. My husband on the other hand, was carrying all the heavy items outside the storage room and separates the entire gadgets that are still useful and throw the rest in the trash bin.

The old chairs and tables were donated at a local charity. My father-in-law was very thankful that we took time to help him out. After everything was done, we went out to have our dinner at their favorite restaurant.

Midnight Screening for Iron Man 2

After a long day at work, husband surprises me with two tickets for the midnight screening of Iron Man 2. He knows that I am a fan of this movie and I am excited to watch the second part of it. Hopefully, it will be as good as or better than the first one.

Right now, I am trying to relax and take all things in stride. I am waiting for my husband to come home. Advance Happy Mother's Day!

Sail with Me

I am very excited for our vacation trip together with three of my sister-in-laws and their family in California next month. I know that this trip will be awesome because we had been preparing this for many months. We will be going to one of the many beaches in San Diego, California and oh boy my nephews are ecstatic because they wanted to ride their surfing board.

I really wanted to learn on how to ride the surfing board because it looks very challenging, exciting and just for the heck of it you know. Anyways, my nephew J and his brothers are telling me that they actually need to put Future Fins in their surf boards to help them navigate easier.

Likewise, I am so super excited with this trip because I will make a surprise visit to my Aunt and Uncle who lived in San Diego, California for many years. They are a relative from my father's side of the family. My Aunt and Uncle were the first one to call me when I first moved from the Philippines to the US last 2006.

Anyways, hopefully this trip will be a good start for our future vacation together with my husband's side of the family.

Chile Relleno a Mexican Dish

I am very happy with the result of my first attempt to make my own Chile Relleno which is a popular Mexican dish. The process of making this delicious dish is very easy and I want to thank my husband's Step Dad's brother who taught us how to cook this wonderful Mexican cuisine.

Chile Relleno or stuffed chile is made with cheese, flour, and eggs. You have the option of putting raisins, dice meat or raisins. You can also use tomato sauce, re-fried beans, sour cream or guacamole as a side dish for Chile Relleno.

If you are interested in cooking this kind of cuisine please let me know and I will try my best to post the step by step process on my other food blog.

Have a wonderful evening!

Fast Forward and December is almost Here!

It feels so good to be back on my blog. I haven't really had the time to update my blogs since January because I have been quite busy. T...
