Husband's Grandpa Passed Away

It is so hard to deal with pain especially when you lose a loved one. Yesterday, we loss one of the greatest man I've ever known since I married my husband. Dear husband's grandpa (abuelo) passed away yesterday of old age. He was 92 years old and he was a World War 2 veteran who fought in the Philippines during his active years in the military. He is survived by his wife who is my husband's grandma and she is 90 years old. They raised seven children all together along with their grand-children, great-grand children and great-great-grandchildren.

My husband had a lot of great memories with him and we are praying for his eternal rest. We are also praying that Grandma (abuela) will recover from her loss and we are praying that she will still be here when hubby and I will have our first child in the future.

Rest in peace Grandpa Lalo! We will miss you.

Medical Teaching Course

Being a doctor is one of the most rewarding careers that a person can have, but often times there is much more that doctors have to learn outside of medical school, and that is communication skills when dealing with patients. So the question is, where do you get training in communication skills if you are a doctor? Fortunately there are great programs from Oxford Medical that offer many career development courses for doctors. What are these courses exactly? Well Oxford Medical has a few courses including consultant interview course, medical teaching course, medical management course, and teach the teacher course as well. All of these programs will help doctors to reach their full potential in the medical field and are really worth considering for anyone who is a doctor. Keep in mind that Oxford Medical was originally formed in 2004 and they are quite experienced when it comes to medical teaching courses. You should also remember that there are very few other places that will teach these topics and almost none of them will teach these courses the way that Oxford Medical does. So why not take a look at what Oxford Medical has to offer you, you will definitely find a course that suits you.

Best Friends In the Making

Jay and Nao have met each other a couple of times during our company party and gatherings before. Both of their parents are actually my colleagues at my place of work. Jay is turning seven years old next month and on the other hand Nao is turning eleven later this year. I have observed that when they first meet both girls have the same favorite colors which are purple and pink. They both are mixed (half white and half Mexican). They lived in the same neighborhood. They became really close with each other since the last time I've seen this girls. I am happy to see that both girls are committed to become best friends forever. Take a look at the picture below! They even look like they can be sisters.

DEEN VS. BOURDAIN

 Posted by Gaylord Campbell

I got on the internet today using my Clear wireless connection to read the latest about the Paula Deen and Anthony Bourdain fued. I love food and I also like to follow the food drama. Most recently, Paula Deen announced that she had Type II diabetes. I don’t understand why this is such a surprise to everyone with the way she eats and cooks. I also don’t think that people should be bashing her for not releasing her private health information. I think that it is her business. Anthony Bourdain ( a pompus chef) has been slamming her recently. He said that she shouldn’t be teaching America to cook the way that she does and that she should reconsider her deal with a drug company to sell medication to treat diabetes. Honestly, I really don’t care what she does. Type II diabetes is climbing as America gets heavier. It does need to be treated and prevented. I don’t think that Paula Deen is responsible for those Americans who have Type II diabetes. Anthony Bourdain is just so hateful sometimes.

The Birthday Girl Emily

We attended two kids birthday party yesterday. One invitation came from one of my colleagues at work for her daughter Emily and the other invitation came from (Kumare and Kumpadre) for the birthday celebration of our godson Jayden's second birthday.

The first birthday party that we went was pretty cool because they hired people to do face painting for the kids, they made different forms of balloons, and they also nail painting for the kids as well. Even the adults were inspired to get face painting. They served us with nachos, burgers, hotdogs, chili soup, cakes and more. It was really fun.

After two hours my husband and I decided to check out our Godson's birthday party. We had already expected that these will be another gathering for the Filipino community here in Texas and without a doubt there were plenty of them that came. We brought our gifts and say hello to most of the people in the party. The food was delicious because it was all Filipino foods. Since we were already full, dear hubby and I didn't eat much. Indeed, yesterday was a glorious day after all. We were so happy that we both got the day off.

Today is great also because we have the time to give thanks to the Lord by attending the church services this morning.

Coupon Storage Holder

I can't wait to received my first ever coupon storage binder sheets that I ordered from eBay about five minutes ago. I have been using coupons for over five months now and so far so good. Actually, I had created a handmade binder sheets using my old albums which holds my coupon clippings but I realized that I need more room to put my new clippings. I have a routine already which works well for me since I have limited time nowadays to check my binders thoroughly because I am back for my spring classes again plus I also work full time. I am just glad that I am enjoying my coupon journey because it really help me slash our grocery budget and set aside some money for our future travel plans. I just hope that I can continue to stay on track with this new found hobby and eventually teach some of my friends at my place of work who also are very keen on learning how to use coupons to save a few bucks.
