Memory Card Infected with Virus

Well, I am extremely disappointed after I found out that the memory card for the digital camera I left in the Philippines was infected by some sort of virus. I was asking my mother to upload the pictures that they took during my brother and sister's birthday last week but she told me that they will be unable to do it because the pictures are all damage now and possibly the memory card as well. I was mad at first because I don't know how it got infected with virus and so forth but I am trying to be understanding to the current situation right now. I am now planning to purchase a couple of digital cameras for my family in the Philippines. Hopefully, I can snag a great deal of digital cameras pretty soon or else I will go nuts.
