Hello May

I am happy that this day is over. I have such a long day at school as well as at my working place. I can't wait to visit my sister-in-laws again by mid May and go camping and fishing. I am trying to update my blog before I go to bed. I have two more classes left and next week will be my final exam. I am ready to do my training for the other job that I have been eying for the longest time. Hopefully, everything will work out and that all our plans for this year will push-through. Looking for a Greener Pasture

I have two more weeks left for spring semester and I can't wait to have a mini break from school. Actually, I need to clear my mind on what to do next about my career and school. I feel that I need to look for a better career that will help me grow as an individual but with this current economy I know that finding another job will be hard. But there is no doubt that in the future I will be able to work a Monday to Friday job.

A strong writer might pursue a career as a journalist, content writer or even lawyer, but someone who struggles in math may reconsider pursuing a career as an accountant, bank manager or engineer. Your natural talents will make choosing a career path easier.

Where Would You Like to Work

Using your given talents, you can decide where the ideal location would be to work. An individual skilled at managing projects, staying organized and interacting with individuals may be more inclined to work in an office setting rather than outside on their hands and knees performing backbreaking work. While the individual that enjoys interacting and working with his hands may choose the laborious, backbreaking work that a construction worker, engineer or even electrician may perform.

While in school, you begin to notice your style of work: Organized and able to meet deadlines; somewhat organized but misses a few deadlines; or languid and struggles with assignments. Each style helps decided the type of environment that will be the best fit for you. For example, the student who dislikes strict deadlines may prefer roles that do not require this type of skills, such as a teacher or an emergency 911 operator. The individual who excels at meeting tight deadlines may consider taking on a job as an office manager, engineer or even a journalist.
Other key working styles you might take into consideration are ability to handle pressure, working well with others, understanding complex issues in order to complete an assignment. Each of these styles will help you formulate the type of work you will be best fit for.

Research a Prospective Career Path

Career paths all differ, from the life of a court clerk to the pressures of meeting performance standards as a teacher, each profession will require you to have a different set of skills, preparation and aptitude to handle the workload.
Visit career preparation websites. Speak to school counselors. Read magazines and news articles about the life and conditions of your prospective career to see how you may or may not be a good fit for this job. Also make a note of any special certifications and education you might need in order to qualify for the position you hope to obtain. For example, a court reporter will need to enroll and complete court reporting training. Some career paths will require a bachelor’s degree or more, while some may do just fine with a degree from a vocational school.
Use your skills, working style and research to serve as the guiding force for the path that might be best for you. You might develop more skills while attending college or a trade school or you might be ready for the career of your choice now.

Updating my Status

Dear husband and I went to the Social Security Administration office yesterday to update my status from Permanent Residence to US Citizen because I was advice during the Oath Ceremony last month to update my status so I will received all the benefits as a US Citizen in the future. It feels good to tell people that I am actually as equal as them compared when I first moved here in the United States nearly six years ago. Also, I am doing this because my school required me to update my Financial Aid for the next school semester. I haven't applied for my voters ID nor applied for a passport book or passport card but I will eventually process all these things by August. Well, hubby and I haven't plan to go overseas till next year if everything goes well.

Belated Happy Happy Birthday to Me!

I can't believe that I totally forgot to write an article about my 30th birthday celebration last April 1st. I blame my hectic schedule at my place of work as well as my busy schedule at school. Well, I felt really awkward thinking about reaching thirty years old because I felt so old but I have so much to thank for. I thank God for all the blessings such as having a loving family and for giving me a wonderful husband. I celebrated my birthday together with my nephew Kaleb who was also celebrating his 8th birthday. My husband's whole family was there to celebrate with me. I received plenty of presents but the best gift of all was listening to my younger siblings sang happy birthday to me through long distance call. Anyways, folks being 30 wasn't so bad after all; in fact I love every minute of it!

Cookout with Step Dad Yesterday

Dear husband and I had so much fun while visiting his Step-father yesterday because we grilled some chicken, made some steam rice and his Step-Dad made some burritos. Plus, hubby was so kind to purchase a gallon of ice cream as our dessert. It was fun especially that his neighbors also went there to spend time with us. Though we were expecting to have my husband's older sister to join with us but she wasn't able to make it because of work.

Contraband Movie Review

We were able to go to the discount movies last week and we didn't know what to watch and we decided to check out Contraband with Marc Wahlberg. Well, I didn't think that it was going to be a good movie, it turns out that it was actually a great movie. The movie follows a man played by Wahlberg who used to smuggle contraband goods into the United States in his younger years. It turns out that his brother-in-law had gotten into trouble with a local crime boss and it is up to Marc Wahlberg and his friends to smuggle contraband into the United States or else his family will be killed. Well, the movie is quite suspenseful and I was constantly wondering what was going to happen next. Overall the movie was an excellent thriller and is quite original, I highly recommend everyone to watch this movie.

Wrath of the Titans Movie Review

The Wrath of the Titans was an excellent action-packed movie. For those of you who may not know, the Wrath of the Titans is the sequel to the previous re-make of the Clash of the Titans. This movie picks up with Perseus years after the events that occurred during Clash of the Titans. Perseus is older now and he is visited by his father who is Zeus, and tells him that he needs his help. It turns out that Hades and Aries are both making a scheme to revive Kronos, father of Zeus and Hades in order for Kronos to wreck havoc on the earth. The movie is really good and has some surprise twists and many new monsters which I wont give away so that it will be a surprise. If you are looking for a good action packed movie, I highly recommend this one.

So Much Heartaches

Yay, I am relieved that my 12 hour shift is over. I can therefore, breath a little easier because those 12 hour shift really dread your energy. These past few days, there were many things that happen and it's been really tough on me. I have been emotionally wrecked because of the current situation I have with the University I attended here in Texas and I am very disappointed about that. I am trying to figure out ways on how to get back on track and I am trying to do one at a time because I feel like I will have a nervous breakdown soon.

Still, I am thankful that I have my husband on my side because I can really count on him. He has been really understanding with my mood swings lately.
