1. Salmon- is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which reduce inflammation and make your blood less “sticky.” This prevents plaque – fatty deposits – from clogging your arteries. The American Heart Association recommends eating six to nine ounces of salmon each week.
2. Spinach-It has a lot of folate – one of the B vitamins. Folate helps prevent the build-up of homo-cystine - a certain type of amino acid in the blood that’s a major risk factor for heart disease and stroke. Two cups of cooked spinach have the recommended daily value you need. Just make sure it’s fresh or frozen.
3. Pomegranates-will help prevent heart attacks. That’s because they’re loaded with polyphenols. These are antioxidants that help maintain cardiovascular health by scooping up free radicals before they damage your arteries.
