I haven't been updating all my blogs for over a month now and I feel so guilty because I love to update my readers on what is happening with me and my spouse. First of all, we loss a great member of my husband's family last November 1, 2014 and this is by far the hardest thing anyone had to go through especially with our entire family and close friends. I cannot give a lot of details about this for now since it is still under investigation. The entire community of El Paso, Texas loss a great citizen, a father, a brother, a son and a well respected member of our local enforcement. We are still in great sadness but together as a family we will do our best to get by and remember all the happy memories with my husband's step brother. We are hoping that justice will be done. May you rest in peace brother!

Nine Years Death Anniversary of my Mother-in-Law
Last September 8th, my husband and his entire family remembered and honored
the memories of my mother-in-law who passed away nine years ago of cancer. My
sister-in-law especially shared the video they had made for her funeral which
chronicles the life of their mother and we can't help ourselves but be
emotional. Everyone in the family started sharing their favorite memory of
their mother and I remember the words from his mother before when my then
boyfriend now my husband went to the Philippines for the first time. She told
me on the phone "Geraldine please takes care of my baby", and I know
in my heart from then on that my husband is closed to his mom.
Unfortunately, my mother-in-law and I didn't get a chance to meet in person but I am thankful that her entire family made me feels welcome. My sister-in-law Michelle also told me that she thank God that Tony had me by his side and they are thankful that I am taking good care of their baby brother.
Anyway, we choose to remember all the great things my mother-in-law did in her lifetime and we are looking forward to be reunited with her in the next life to come.

Visiting Four Cities in Texas
My husband and I had a blast during our road trip vacation last week. As a matter of fact, we visited more cities in Texas compared to our previous trip. We visited San Antonio, Houston, Corpus Christi and Pearland Texas. Our trip was short but we had so much fun.
By the way, one of the many highlights of our trip is to visit the newly opened Jollibee branch in Houston, Texas. It is the most popular fast-food chain in the Philippines which is comparable to McDonald's. I haven't had any food from Jollibee since I last visited Philippines in 2010. I almost cried when I entered the store and saw the menu. It reminds me fond memories I have with my family back home.
Other than that, we also get a chance to hang out with my husband's Uncle and his family in Pearland, Texas which is about 20-40 minutes away from Houston. Uncle Edward is an established lawyer in Houston and in fact he works as a Judge there. We stayed there for one night at their gorgeous looking home. They welcome us with so much love and excitement which is really cool. His wife Aunt Debbie made dinner and breakfast for us. My husband's cousins are so friendly and kind. We are so thankful for them and looking forward to see them again next time.
Also, we went to visit the beach in Corpus Christi and we went to the River Walk as well in San Antonio. We always adore these two cities in Texas and it is good to be back after two years of not able to come back there.
Anyways, take a look at these gorgeous pictures below. I hope everyone is having a great evening and a great week.

Vacation Mode!
Six more days and we are ready for our much needed vacation. Our vacation
has been long overdue but thank God we both got approve for paid vacation.
Although, I have to work six days straight until Sunday before I can take off
but that's okay. I am so excited to visit Houston, Austin, Galveston, Dallas
during this entire trip because it is my first time to visit these beautiful
places. We are planning to visit the beach and some attractions which these
cities offer. My husband and I are exploring Texas in a big way.
I just hope everything will turn out great and we only hope for a fun-filled road trip.

July 4th Wedding!
My husband and I had the opportunity to witness the second
wedding of my sister-in-law Carleen last month with my new brother-in-law Dan.
The theme of their wedding is Fourth of July since it falls through the same
day when all Americans celebrate this special day. They requested all their
guests to wear a red, white or blue dress during their wedding day celebration.
We have so much fun celebrating this special occasion with my husband's side of
the family as well as relatives from across the state. Below are some of the
photos taken during their Fourth of July wedding! Congratulations again!

Life in America is NOT Easy!
We have so much going on these past few months and as always my work
schedule has been so hectic. I've worked so many hours for the past several
weeks that all I can do when I get home is take a shower and rest. My husband
has been the one taken care of things and preparing meals for those weeks that
I've worked a 12 hour shift or more. I have never imagined that I will be
working these many hours since moving in America almost 8 years ago this
October. I am used to working an 8 to 5 job while still living in the
Philippines and have the weekend off but working here in the US is a different
story. Either way, I am still thankful for having a job that I can depend on
and a job that can pay my bills.
By the way, you can read on my next post the different fun things we did last month. I hope every one of my readers will have a great day and take it easy folks!
