As my husband and I settle down to watch the exciting New Year's Eve programs, I am sure we will both go to New Year's Rockin Eve, and try to figure out who those people are. In the old days I kept up with pop music a little as well as 'real rock music.' My husband though, he'll definitely think those people are cheesy. Even I wish they'd show some Nine Inch Nails or maybe have Ozzy come out to wish us Happy New Years.
Now we will be watching on cannonsatellite TV, but I remember his complaints that year he came over and had to watch my old black and white before we got married. I was never much for TV in those days. I preferred radio, or quiet and a good book. I didn't fair much better at his house because he's one of those guys who likes to listen to music very loudly and watch wide screen TV with the sound only a little lower at the same time, which I find to be a hideous form of sensory overload.
No chance of sensory overload this year watching New Year's Rockin Eve. The line up looks dry, but we will still watch because it's tradition. I do wish they'd spice it up a bit, but it will no doubt beat the competition. Of course at age 50, I don't have a clue what Fergie sounds like. It took me years to figure out they weren't talking about the Duchess of York. At any rate we will watch and learn.
